The World
The world is overrun. Derelict and deserted, a discarded wasteland where only the demented, the weird and the strange survive. Hidden in holes and caverns, the Sustainable Rebels scavenge through the discarded, finding objects and tokens, crafting their armour from everything left behind.
The Collection
This collection was born from a single bathmat. Taken apart, rewoven and reimagined into an avant garde collection of high fashion trash. Long elegant dresses. Jackets and pants upcycled from t-shirts. Every piece one of a kind, reborn into the new. Transformed and rearranged with clashing textures and prints that refuse to be ignored. This is not recycling. This is resurrection.
Designer Statement
Erica Bowe doesn't upcycle. She excavates. Each piece in The Sustainable Rebels is an act of transformation — materials stripped of their original identity and rebuilt into something that never existed before. A bathmat becomes a gown. A t-shirt becomes a jacket. Waste becomes want. The result is a collection that is equal parts apocalyptic vision and radical craft. Chaotic on the surface, meticulously considered underneath.
