About
I'm Erica, the designer behind Bowe. I started sewing when I was three, learning by watching my Mum on the machine, and over the years I've made thousands of pieces to celebrate and flatter all kinds of bodies and personalities.
I'm professionally trained in Fashion Design, and I love working with unexpected fabrics and colourways. Much of my work is upcycled: taking clothing and materials that already exist and rebuilding them into something bold and new. My debut collection, The Sustainable Rebels, was made from a deconstructed bathmat.
Alongside fashion, I've spent more than ten years working one-on-one with people through coaching, art facilitation and support work. It's shaped everything about how I work. I believe everyone is creative, and my job is to give you the tools and the permission to play.
Today I make custom pieces designed alongside you, and teach sewing from my place in Brunswick, Melbourne, in your home, or online. Whether you want something made just for you or want to learn to make it yourself, I'd love to hear from you.
